Mitchell is a young and enthusiastic biologist who studied at the National Autonomous University of Honduras (UNAH). During her years of study, she was also a volunteer at the TEFH Dr. Cyril Hardy Nelson Sutherland Herbarium of UNAH where she collaborated on the development of research on the flora of Honduras.
In 2017, Mitchell joined the team of the Climate Change Agro-environment and Risk Management Unit of the Agriculture and Livestock Secretariat (SAG). In that role, she promoted the formation of the Participatory Agroclimatic Table in several regions of Honduras and collaborated on the development of Agroclimatic Bulletins and the Institutional Climate Change Adaptation Plan SAG 2019-2023.
Currently, she is a part of the International Center for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT-Honduras) research team. She works to develop actions oriented toward sustainable agricultural development for climate change through using climate modeling tools.
