Originally from Peru, Moraima grew up in the United States. She has worked with The Nature Conservancy since December of 2017. She earned a master’s from the Georgia Institute of Technology in International Relations with a focus on Economic Development in Latin America. She then worked in the private sector for three years before deciding to begin a not-for-profit career. From there, her first job was with an agency for natural disaster aid in Peru following the heavy rainfall and flooding caused by the “Coastal El Niño” event that affected many cities in the northern part of the country. After that experience, her professional interests began to focus on the protection and conservation of the environment. Currently, she is working as the assistant of the regional entity of the Latin America Lands team.
